Missions of the Church

As an evangelical Christian church, Highlawn Presbyterian Church is called to serve the community and its members. Many of our members are committed to this service on their own, but also through the church.

Mission Projects for remainder of 2009 and 2010

SEPTEMBER 2009:              School Supplies

OCTOBER 2009:                  Supplies for Soldiers and Shoes for Orphans

NOVEMBER 2009:              Operation Christmas Child – please make sure your shoeboxes are brought to the church the week of November 15th.

DECEMBER 2009:               Salvation Army Stockings

FEBRUARY 2010:                Souper Bowl Sunday for Food Pantry

MARCH 2010:                      Hygiene Products for Middle School Students

On-Going

Snacks-in-packs

Monthly snack to send home with child. (Monetary donation and/or individual fruit/pudding cups in plastic containers, rice krispie treats, peanut butter crackers, juice boxes, pop tarts, pretzels, chips, and cookies.

Hospice House snacks

Snack bags for Hospice families. (Monetary donation and/or individual fruit/pudding cups in plastic containers, rice krispie treats, peanut butter crackers, juice boxes, pop tarts, pretzels, chips, and cookies

Marshall University Lunch for a Buck

Provides a low cost nutritious meal for college students at the Campus Christian Center.

Huntington City Mission:

On the third Sunday of every month, a regular group of volunteers from HPC serves lunch at the City Mission. If you are interested in helping on this mission project, please contact Ann. More information about the Huntington City Mission can be found on their website.

Meals for “unforgettables” and those recently ill

These are prepared on Wednesday evenings for dinner.
